Hi, I'm Jake. I've been cooking since I was six years old. with the help of my family. Growing up in a family of foodies, the kitchen was always the heart of our home. Opening this place has been my dream for years, even while running other businesses. Due to the fact this is my dream to have the best cheesesteak around, I've poured a compulsive amount of attention into every detail.

I grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Once a week, my parents would drive me 45 minutes each way into the city, just to get the best cheesesteaks the city had to offer. That tradition stuck with me my whole life, and as I got older I knew I wanted to bring that same city-quality cheesesteak home to the burbs. That's what Jake's Steaks is all about.

On a more personal note: The name "Jake" is a family name. There were 3 generations of the name John (my legal name) alive when I was born and all had to be differentiated. My family name was "Jake". I've been called that since birth.
